Ramulu warns transport companies if fares are hiked during festivals, permit will be cancelled
During the Dussehra festival, private bus owners should charge only fixed fare for passengers going to their hometowns from various places including the capital Bangalore. Otherwise, Transport Minister B. Sreeramulu has warned that the permit will be canceled immediately.
Transport Minister B. Sreeramulu has given an official tweet about this and has warned that the permits of transport companies charging more than the fixed fare will be cancelled.
The private bus owners should not disturb the passengers and should only charge the fixed fare for each route. Apart from that, if more money is collected, legal action is inevitable.
Passengers going to their villages from the capital Bangalore and other urban areas during Dussehra festival should be charged only the fare fixed by the private bus owners. Otherwise the root permit will be revoked immediately. He said that there is no compromise for any reason.
If the ticket price is too high, passengers can call the helpline and complain about the bus number and route, action will be taken. The Minister appealed to the passengers that the Transport Department has started a helpline number (94498 63429/ 94498 63426).
